Unfortunately, we do not sell throttle-activated electric bikes. We truly wish we could, but here’s why we don’t:
In the decade Propel has been in business, we have yet to find a company that can provide a throttle-activated eBike that meets the same standards in quality, safety and support offered by Bosch eBike Systems. We don’t want to give you the impression that you’re making a bad decision by going with a throttle eBike. On the contrary, it’s a great way to get out and about. But, as Propel continues to grow, we have to be able to offer our customers the safest and most reliable products, which is why we’ve chosen to work exclusively with Bosch.
While we anticipate UL safety testing to become a requirement in the future, until then, Bosch is one of the only companies putting their system through this rigorous process voluntarily. There was a time when we offered other motor systems, similar to the ones found on several popular throttle-activated eBikes today, but found that a disproportionate amount were ending up in our shop to be repaired. These brands are simply operating by different standards compared to Bosch, a company that’s been around for more than 130 years and has proven to be the most reliable system on the market.
