Before committing to an eBike, you’ll want to make sure the battery will get you where you need to go. There are many things that can affect a battery’s range, such as the weight the eBike is carrying, the terrain, weather, incline, etc. Luckily, Bosch is here to help with their interactive range assistant guide.

Here you can input countless configurations based on the weight of the rider (+cargo), weather/season, motor, battery, cadence, road conditions, shifter (derailleur or hub), tire tread, assistance level, terrain, incline, and riding style (sporty or relaxed).

There isn’t one range number for a battery. The same pack can go a lot farther on a flat ride in Eco than on a hilly, loaded ride in Turbo, so think of range as a band and run your own setup through the Bosch calculator above.
Current Bosch Smart System batteries come in more sizes than they used to: PowerTube 500, 540, 600, 625, 750 and 800 Wh, and PowerPack Frame 400, 545, 725 and 800 Wh.
